Consuming and drinking the right foods can do miracles for your dental health. Specifically, you should pay attention for foods that cause dry mouth, that are higher in sugar, that discolor enamel and/or that are hard to chew. Review this list of foods to ensure that you’re watchful about what you’re eating.

-Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol not only elevates your risk of developing mouth cancer, but also increases your risk of xerostomia.
-Coffee can discolor your teeth, but it can also dry out your mouth; and the sugar and cream add-ins don’t do any good for your chompers either.
-The rough structure of ice can break or fracture your pearly whites, leaving you with an oral emergency.
-Lollipops are virtually purely sugar, and they’re also hard enough to break or chip your teeth.
-Potato chips are a starchy carbohydrate food particularly prone to sticking to teeth and gums, leading to plaque accrual and eventually periodontal disease.
-Bacteria change the sugar in sodas to bacterial acids dangerous for your oral health.
-Soft breads are especially malleable, and when pieces of it get stuck between your chompers, the resultant food remnants can contribute to development of tooth decay and periodontal disease.
-Sports drinks have large amounts of sugars, which contribute to the stockpiling of plaque and tartar.
-Sticky foods wedged between your teeth are hard to get rid of even with tooth-brushing.

We hope you liked going over this list as much as we enjoyed making it. Recognizing how to care for your pearly whites will help you retain the smile you deserve.
